Pravin Sharma, BSc, MSc.
Founder & Author
Pravin Sharma is a PhD candidate in Applied Science Department at William & Mary, Virginia, USA. He has done his BS in Physics from Kathmandu, Nepal and MS in Physics with specialization in Materials Science, from Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune India. He is currently working on Ultrafast Laser Spectroscopy, complemented by work in Atomistic Spin Dynamics (ASD) modeling and he holds broad expertise in various characterization techniques. Teaching has been a central part of Pravin’s journey since his undergraduate years, giving him over six years of academic experience. He was also an academic incharge when working in Nepal. He has mentored and tutored more than 250 undergraduate students both in Nepal and the USA. Passionate about sharing knowledge, he combines deep academic insight with highly effective teaching methodologies, inspiring his students while leading collaborative projects both inside and outside the lab and classroom. “I’ve long envisioned bringing these notes together, and I’m truly excited to see it finally taking shape.” – Pravin

Prateek Gupta, MSc., Ph.D.
Author & Core member
Prateek Gupta is a theoretical Physicist in Astrophysics and currently he has been working as a Post-doctoral researcher at Thüringer Landessternwarte (TLS) in Tautenburg, Germany since October, 2023. Before this he was a Senior Research Fellow at the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) in Bangalore under the CEFIPRA project. He had completed his PhD at Savitribai Phule Pune University with focus on radio structures (radio relics and halos) observed in galaxy clusters in radio frequencies ranging from 150 MHz to 2 GHz using semi-analytical modeling of the Fermi-I and Fermi-II acceleration mechanisms. His work also addressed why not all merging clusters show radio halos. During his PhD, He developed a halo-finder algorithm, MITRO (Paper Link), used to identify galaxy clusters and superclusters in both the simulated as well as the observable universe. He has been conducting research at the intersection of cosmology, astrophysics, (magneto)-hydrodynamics, and computational physics since 2015. “I firmly believe that knowledge should be shared to encourage positive societal development, rather than being kept hidden” – Prateek

Sagar Sethi, MSc., Ph.D.
Author & Core member
Sagar Sethi is a final-year PhD student in Astrophysics at the Astronomical Observatory of Jagiellonian University, Kraków, Poland. He completed his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering in 2014. Despite an engineering background, his strong interest in astrophysics led him to switch careers from engineering to physics. He later earned his Master’s degree in Physics (with Astrophysics) from Pune University, India, completing his master’s thesis at IUCAA, Pune, India. . His doctoral research focuses on the evolution of the largest giant radio galaxies (GRGs) in the universe. Sagar has also been active as a science communicator, engaging with diverse organisations from India to Poland. As a core member of the RAD@home citizen-science (https://www.radathomeindia.org/) collaboration since 2015, he continues to contribute actively to collaborative astrophysical discoveries. “The true laboratory is the mind, where, behind illusions, we uncover the laws of truth.-Jagadish Chandra Bose”
