What is Buoyancy?

Buoyancy is the force that makes things float in water or any other liquid. When you put something in water, the water pushes back up on it. This upward push is called buoyant force. If the push is strong enough to hold the object up, it floats. If not, it sinks. For example, when you drop a piece of wood in water, it floats because the water pushes up harder than the wood pushes down. But if you drop a rock, it sinks because it’s too heavy and the water can’t push it up enough. So, buoyancy is just the water (or liquid) trying to push things up, and whether something floats or sinks depends on how strong that push is compared to the weight of the object.
