What is Light?

Light is a form of energy that helps us see the world around us. It travels in straight lines and moves incredibly fast — faster than anything else in the universe! The Sun is the biggest natural source of light for Earth, and it gives us both light and warmth. We can also make light using bulbs, candles, or flashlights. Light can bounce off things (called reflection), bend when it passes through different materials (called refraction), and even split into colors like a rainbow. Without light, everything would be dark, and life on Earth wouldn’t be possible.
